Dive into Enchantment: College of Magic’s Children’s Magic Festival Transforms into an Under the Sea Extravaganza
The College of Magic, renowned for its dedication to the art of illusion and wonder, is thrilled to announce the upcoming Children’s Magic Festival with a captivating Under the Sea theme. This magical event promises to transport young audiences to an underwater world of spellbinding performances, interactive workshops, and mesmerizing experiences and will run from 21 to 23 June 2024.
The Children’s Magic Festival is a popular event for children aged 3 to 10. The 75-minute show programme has multiple activities that happen throughout our magic mansion.
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE FESTIVAL
- Under the Sea Show: A mystifying, fun and theatrical magic show. Spectacular young magicians will take the stage to showcase their mesmerizing talents, weaving together a narrative that unfolds beneath the waves.
- Interactive Workshops: Learn a magical stunt. Budding magicians can participate in hands-on workshops led by amazing wonder-workers. From learning the secrets behind underwater magic tricks to crafting their own magical sea creature props, children will have the opportunity to dive into the world of magic themselves.
- Self-guided Tour: Young attendees will have the opportunity to embark on a magical journey through our magical mansion. Hidden gems and secrets await discovery, adding an extra layer of excitement to the captivating experience.
- Carnival of Wonders: Step right up and try your hand at a variety of delightful games inspired by the wonders of the deep sea. Every game promises a splash of magic and heaps of fun.
- Walk-around puppeteers, jugglers, clowns and so much more!
In addition to enjoying all the magical hi-jinks, festivalgoers are invited to dress up to this year’s theme – Under the Sea!
Creative director at the College of Magic Chad Findlay expressed his excitement for this year’s festival. “The ‘Under the Sea’ theme is wonderfully inspiring for us. So many magical themes, including a recycling narrative, that will all be woven into a fantastical experience for children.”
He continues, “The College of Magic, a non-profit organisation and the only one of its kind in the world, has been teaching the theatrical performing art of magic and its allied arts, as well as vital life-skills to children for 44 years. As one of the College of Magic’s annual fundraising events, the Children’s Magic Festival has been entertaining Cape Town since 1994. It has inspired and delighted tens of thousands of families over the years.”
