UNIQUE SOUTH AFRICAN MAGIC BOOK EXCITES AND INSPIRES
On CBS’s 60 Minutes programme – the most-watched news television show in America –millions of viewers discovered a secret that South Africans have known for over 40 years: The College of Magic is a unique organisation and learning the art of conjuring is a life-changing experience for hundreds of young people.
The College of Magic – a South African non-profit youth organisation – is proud to launch a unique book for young people called “Everybody’s Magic”. Best-selling author, psychologist and magician Professor Richard Wiseman (The Luck Factor, and Quirkology), collaborated on the project with students at the College to produce a gorgeous full-colour book for young people that uses magic, storytelling, and psychology to educate and inspire. Two years in the making, the book is truly unique and involves students teaching magical illusions, inspirational stories of diverse historical magicians and some valuable life lessons.
Vanishing Inc – the largest magic retailer in the world – have generously printed the book along with a stunning custom deck of cards – both showcasing artwork by South African illustrator, Ndumiso Nyoni. Readers will also have special access to secret videos of the College of Magic students explaining the tricks and giving top tips for their performance.
All the funds raised from the sale of the book and deck of cards will go towards furthering the College of Magic’s community youth development projects in South Africa.
“Magic provides a wonderful new way of learning for students, imbuing them with confidence, the ability to perform and captivate an audience and hope to realise their dreams. We look forward to sharing these positive effects with aspiring magicians and we cannot wait to share the wonder of magic with all of you!”, says David Gore, training director of the College of Magic.
“Working with the College was a joy, and I am proud to be associated with such a creative project. It is wonderful to have the students feature in the book and to support the important and life-changing work of the College” adds Professor Richard Wiseman.
